A decade ago, I didn’t know how to learn new skills.
Today, when I’m eager to learn something new, I know exactly how to go about it.
How?
By immersing myself in the field:
When I wanted to learn how to teach, I attended courses.
When I wanted to learn how to build a company, I started one.
When I wanted to learn how to create stunning videos, I watched tutorials on YouTube.
My point isn’t that you need to be active all the time — passive consumption is also beneficial. Nor is it that books aren’t valuable — they are an essential source of knowledge.
The real point is that you must wholeheartedly want to learn the skill. You need to take your learning into your own hands. Define your own learning path as best as you can, and invest significant time into actually learning the skill. There is no shortcut.
